It is not that I travel a lot. But wherever I go, I used to listen to the people around me. I hear their own story. Sometimes I catch them as what they love to do .


Evolved out of a shadow
The Kaora people are mostly landless. They work as agricultural laborers and fish farmers. Some raise pigs and goats. Pradip is staying with his uncle Mahesh who farms pigs for living. He wasn’t forced to come but he had no other choice. He is born in a lower caste Hindu family in Bangladesh. Growing up was not easy for him. In reality, he couldn’t even play or study with other kids he wanted. People used to keep distance from them. But he got used to it. His uncle taught him to respect people and not to feel neglected. Pradip, the boy believes the day will come when people will never call him “Kaora”. It was amazing to meet him on the field. His uncle Mahesh is an amazing person. His intellectual thought has great power which we all need to understand.


Her name is Rukkhini
Rukhini is from Uttar Pradesh, living in Kolkata in India. She still works for her family. Living happily with her grand children. She believes that as she still has two hand working great, she won't stop working.


A Fisherman
Mr. Dipankar Sardar is one of them who lives in Batiaghata Upazila near world largest mangrove forest. He is a farmer and a fisherman also who cannot imagine a single meal without fish! Besides selling he also do fishing for himself. He has own land to for cultivation. He do fishing until satisfy himself.


The Sculptor | ভাস্কর
১৯৬৪ সালে হরিপদ পাল ঢাকার শাঁখারিবাজারে আসেন নিজেকে ভাস্কর হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করার উদ্দেশ্যে। সাভারের শিমুলিয়া থেকেই পারিবারিক ব্যবসার খাতিরে ভাস্কর্যর প্রতি আলাদা আগ্রহ জন্মায়। ঢাকাতে এসে তাই তিনি বুলবুল একাডেমিতে ভর্তি হন। মুক্তিযুদ্ধের শুরুর দিনগুলোতে তিনি এখানেই ছিলেন। বর্তমানে যেখানে আছেন, এখানেই প্রায় ১৩ জনকে হত্যার খবর পেয়ে আসাম চলে যান। সেখানে কাকার সাথে মনিপুরি পাড়াতে কাজও শুরু করেন। এরপর চলে যান কলকাতাতে। কুমারটুলিতে বেশকিছুদিন ধরে কাজ করার পর আবার শাঁখারি বাজার ফিরে আসেন। হরিপদ পাল ২০০২ সালে তার কাজের জন্যে ওয়াশিংটন ডিসি তে ‘স্মিতসোনিয়ান ফোকলাইফ ফেস্টিভাল’ পুরষ্কার পান। তিনি মনে করেন নিজে বেঁচে থাকার তাগিদে যতটুকু প্রয়োজন ততটুকুই নেওয়া উচিত। নিজের গুণের মাধ্যমেই বেঁচে থাকা যায়। আর যার গুণ আছে, তার কাজ আছে।

A Poet
Mr. Swapan Biswas is a poet lives in west Bengal in India. He uses his name as Akshay Chand in his books. He sells his own writings on the streets of Kolkata. Usually his target market is Park Street to Esplanade area. He has wife and two daughter in his family. One of his daughter recently got married. He earns average fifteen thousand rupee per month and he loves this job without any objection. He believes that a poet must take only what he needs from a society, nothing more. When I asked if he wants to tell anything he said “Being quite is my speech”


Sonali a girl
Sonali, she is a student lives in a very poor family close to the Dakshineswar Kali temple and under Vivekanda Bridge. Everyday she collect water for her family from the river Ganga.


Dialogues With Evil Spirit
A devotee who is believed to be possessed by evil spirit in Buno Maa Bari during annual fair. Other devotees are also dancing with the regional music. No one can touch her till she stop talking.
